Acceptance Policy

The Vancouver Island Blacksmith's Association (VIBA) is fundamentally a place of acceptance and is hereby to be viewed and respected as such.

We do not accept or in any way endorse discrimination of any kind whether it be racially motivated, gender based or directed at members of the LGBTQIA2’s community and will actively defend against all instances that take place in our shops or on any grounds of VIBA.

The forms of discipline for violations will vary depending upon the seriousness and frequency of the offense. In most cases, a simple discussion with one of the VIBA elected executives will suffice. However, if a member habitually violates safety rules or shows no regard for themselves or others the member's affiliation with VIBA may be terminated.

Discriminatory behaviour is grounds for immediate removal and termination of membership.
